Apple Rolls Out 6TB and 12TB iCloud Storage Plans, Priced at $30 and $60 Monthly

iCloud 6TB and 12TB Storage Plans

Cupertino, CA — September 12, 2023

During its iPhone 15 event on September 12, 2023, Apple made a major announcement about its iCloud plans, unveiling new, higher storage options for users.

iCloud Storage Current Plans

Until now, individual iCloud accounts were limited to a maximum of 2 TB storage, priced at $9.99/month, 200GB for $2.99/month and 50GB for $0.99/month.

The New iCloud+ Storage Plans

However, starting from September 18, Apple will introduce 6 TB and 12 TB plans, accommodating a greater amount of personal photos, videos, documents, and data.

Nevertheless, these expanded storage tiers come with a significant increase in price. For users in the United States, the 6 TB plan of iCloud+ will be available at $29.99 per month, while the 12 TB plan will cost $59.99 per month.

Furthermore, just like other iCloud+ plans, the storage can be shared among up to six people through Family Sharing. On top of the increased storage options, these plans include all the other features of iCloud+, such as iCloud Private Relay, HomeKit Secure Video, and more. Additionally, it remains uncertain whether these tiers can be combined with an Apple One Premier subscription to add an additional 2 TB storage, potentially providing a total storage allocation of 14 terabytes. While the new storage tiers may seem expensive, they do address the needs of users who have already exhausted their previous maximum allocation of 4 TB (2 TB iCloud + 2 TB from Apple One). You can subscribe to these larger iCloud plans starting from Monday, September 18.

iCloud Plus Features

  • 6TB and 12TB of storage
  • iCloud Private Relay
  • Hide My Email
  • Custom Email Domain
  • HomeKit Secure Video support for an unlimited number of cameras

Closing Remarks

As consumers and professionals alike generate more digital content than ever, Apple’s new iCloud+ plans aim to cater to the growing demand for secure and abundant storage space. The enhanced security features and collaborative tools make these plans not just an upgrade in storage but a comprehensive enhancement to Apple’s cloud ecosystem.
