Apple will Announce Swift Student Challenge 2024 Winners on March 28th.
Apple announced today that it will reveal the winners of the 2024 Swift Student Challenge on Thursday, March 28th. This annual competition challenges students to showcase their coding skills and creativity by building innovative projects using the Swift Playgrounds app.
Earlier Start, More Time for Students
In a break from tradition, Apple launched the 2024 challenge earlier than usual, giving students a head start to develop their projects. The submission window ran from February 5th to February 25th and is now closed.
350 Winners, Special Event Lottery
A total of 350 winning projects will be selected. All winners will be eligible to enter a lottery to get a chance to attend the June 10th WWDC Special Event held at Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, California.
50 Distinguished Winners Honored
Apple has chosen an additional 50 submissions for special recognition as “Distinguished Winners.” These top students will be invited to an exclusive three-day experience in Cupertino, including attending the WWDC Special Event keynote and participating in other activities.
Selection Criteria
Winners are chosen based on three critical criteria:
- Technical Accomplishment: The technical proficiency demonstrated in the project.
- Creativity of Ideas: The originality and ingenuity of the project concept.
- Written Explanation: The clarity and comprehensiveness of the written response explaining the project.
