Apple’s AirTag getting upgrade with tracking chip, expected in 2025.

According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the Apple’s future edition of Trace and Find device, AirTag, is scheduled to come out at the end of June of 2025.

In the most recent issue of his newsletter titled “Power On,” Gurman talked about the work Apple was doing on the next AirTag generation software referred to as “B589.” As we write this submission, Apple is in the process of running tests with partners in Asia as they prepare for the release date of this tracking device set for mid-2023. According to reports, the next version will come with a more powerful processor and improved locating features.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has confirmed that the mass production of the AirTag’s second version has been pushed forward from Q4 2024 to some time next year, October 2023. He thinks that the new AirTag will work somehow with Apple’s Vision Pro headset but he has not revealed any other details.
